The Giesemann SUPER PURPLE is a high-performance T5 tube with a very strong white/violet spectrum as a perfect addition to our proven Giesemann PowerChrome tubes. Extensive tests have shown that most hard corals have a distinct color gain after 2 - 3 weeks, especially those within the pink, violet, and red range. The fish look much more colorful and natural.
SUPER PURPLE combined with the ACTINIC BLUE or the AQUABLUE CORAL produces exceptionally beautiful color effects.

Light-dependent corals in the sea are inhabited by so-called zooxanthellae, single-celled algae, which provide the host with photosynthesis nutrients. Depending on the coral's natural location (and their depth), there is a more or less blue-colored light to which the zooxanthellae have adapted. Besides the increased amount of blue in the light spectrum, sufficient light intensity is also required.
AQUABLUE CORALÂ is the ultimate blue/white light spectrum for brilliant colors from your corals and fish. It is ideal to combine with the ACTINIC BLUE or SUPER ACTINIC to produce exceptionally beautiful color effects and the ideal light for all marine creatures that live in salt-water and reef aquariums. A special 70:30 combination of 6000K and 22000K (approx.) phosphor blend. It is specifically designed for reef aquariums mimicking sea water to a depth of one to twenty meters. It can grow SPS corals up to 80cm in the aquarium.
The bulbs can also be combined with Super Flora for freshwater, tropical fish, and planted aquaria.
Some corals reach their beauty and expression only through special fluorescent colors. Like many mussel species, these animals will be found in the sea at water depths where specific UV components are available. Therefore we have developed a fluorescent lamp to bring these colors into the home aquarium.
The Giesemann SUPER ACTINIC is a high-performance T5 tube, emitting a very strong, pure actinic spectrum, which generates a light white/violet effect in your aquarium. SUPER ACTINIC increases the fluorescence, enhances the maximum fluorescence from your colorful corals, and lends itself to an ideal supplementation of existing metal halide or LED lighting.
Giesemann AQUABLUE AZURE is a high-power T5 tube with a strong and stable spectrum for lighting reef aquariums, thereby ensuring fascinating color effects and glorious coral growth. It was developed for reef aquariums providing higher PAR to enhance the colors and growth of corals whilst producing a rich turquoise blue for optimum aesthetics. Color - a rich turquoise blue approximating 16-17000 Kelvin - can be used as a stand-alone tube or mixed with other colors within the range.
The turquoise and white spectrum perfectly complements the ACTINIC BLUE or the AQUABLUE CORAL PowerChrome lamps.
The Giesemann PowerChrome TROPIC is one of the few existing lamps that actually produces full spectral components of its entire range from blue to red. Based on this, the Giesemann TROPIC lamps reflect not only the colors with their natural properties but also negatively impact algae growth.
Aquatic plants and corals in the upper reef zones have adapted to the entire light spectrum of sunlight. In natural environments, aquatic plants are almost exclusively to find in well-lit and clear waters at just a little depth (up to 2-3 m). Many coral species kept in aquariums are also from shallower depths, where the entire light spectrum of sunlight is still available.
All visible light components are nearly equally passing through the water until a depth of about 6m. Therefore it is important to both plants and corals to provide a light source that comes as close as possible to sunlight.
Since most aquarium inhabitants live in seawater depths where the light is very blue, it is necessary to simulate these natural living conditions in the aquarium. Therefore, the Giesemann ACTINIC BLUE has been developed to enhance the blue proportion in marine aquariums. Giesemann ACTINIC BLUE emits almost exclusively blue light of wavelengths from 400 - 510 nm, with a maximum of 420 nm. These wavelengths enhance the growth of many coral species in the aquarium, thus ensuring optimum lighting conditions.
ACTINIC BLUE reinforces the natural fluorescence of corals and brings them excellent to bear - especially in the twilight phase when being used alone. The optimal use of Giesemann ACTINIC BLUE is combined with either the Giesemann PowerChrome Super Actinic or Super Purple or combined with our MegaChrome HQI bulbs. Giesemann's ACTINIC BLUE should never be missed for lighting coral reefs in aquariums.
