HYDROS WaveEngine Direct Drive Compatible

The HYDROS WaveEngine is a multi-brand, multi-pump controller that allows you to control, monitor, and power pumps from different brands using a single app. It can handle up to 4 pumps, and you can plug in pumps from various brands like IceCap, Reef Octopus, and Maxspect using the Direct Drive ports on the front of the WaveEngine. This means you can power four pumps off a single power supply, eliminating the need for external controllers that come with these pumps. The growing popularity of the WaveEngine has led brands like IceCap to offer "pump only" versions of their products that do not include the external controller and power supply, saving you $100.

IceCap Gyre Dual Pump WiFi Controller Compatible

The CoralVue HYDROS platform powers the IceCap Gyre Dual Pump WiFi Controller, which is compatible with all IceCap Gyre Pump generations. This means that the Controller can power and control the two current generations of IceCap Gyre Pumps, the 2K and 4K, as well as the previous generation 1K and 3K pumps.

The Gyre 2K Uses Revolutionary Crossflow Technology

Wavemakers are great at creating waves. Although waves are impressive to see, they mostly move the water up and down, with less horizontal movement, especially near the bottom of the aquarium.
On the other hand, gyre generators are excellent at moving the water from one side of the aquarium to the other. The water flow is so strong that it bounces back from the opposite side, creating full circulation within the aquarium, known as "gyre flows."

Why have Gyre pumps taken the aquarium world by storm? There are three main reasons:

  1. They leave virtually no dead spots in your aquarium.
  2. The flow is evenly distributed throughout your entire aquarium.
  3. Water bounces back off the other side of your tank, creating a full circulation to complete the Gyre pattern.

Why is a Gyre Generator Superior to a Wavemaker?

Wavemakers are great at creating waves. Although waves are impressive to observe, they primarily move water up and down vertically, with minimal horizontal movement, especially near the bottom of the aquarium. On the other hand, the Gyre is excellent at creating significant water movement from one side of the aquarium to the other. The volume of water is so substantial that it rebounds off the opposite side of the aquarium, creating full circulation within the tank, known as "gyre flow."
